Toys for children from birth to 1 year - image №1The assortment of toys in the stores seems to many parents so large that you grab your head: what to choose? But in fact, the choice is limited by many factors that parents should pay attention to so that the toy brings not only joy to the baby, but also allows new skills to be developed in the baby.

Kids from 0 to 3 years old get acquainted with the world through the sense organs: sight, hearing, touch and smell (sensory or sensory development). Sensory development in a child occurs by examining the size, shape, color, sound and smell of the object. To explore any new object or toy, the baby must touch, lick, knock, and sniff the subject.

What should be toys for kids under 1 year old?Based on what to make an informed choice?

First of all,Toys should be bright to attract the attention of the baby. Prefer well-known brands to be confident in quality and to avoid the negative impact of paints and materials of toys on the child's body.Remember that even in the manufacture of toys from natural materials: wood, rubber, cotton, wool, such paints and enamels that contain harmful elements can be used. On public health regulations and toy safety standards can be found here.

Secondly,

Remember that toys for babies up to 3 years old should not contain small parts, because they can cause choking.

Do not buy toys "for growth", the baby simply does not understand the complex toy and will lose interest in it. And, of course, the grown-up child should not spend the time of their games exclusively in the company of rattles. Lagging behind in his development, he, of course, will not lag behind just because of the toy, but will not get what he could be given. Therefore, choosing toys for kids, pay attention to what age they are intended for.

Thirdly, toys for the little ones should be washed. Parts of toys that are in contact with the lips of children, and rattles should be made of materials that do not absorb moisture and are easily disinfected.

Do not forget about the noise level, which makes a toy. Musical toys are such toys that can be given even to the smallest children, for example, the first musical mobiles.Just remember that the sound level emitted by a toy intended for indoor play should not exceed 65 dBA, and the sound level emitted by a toy intended for outdoor play should not exceed 75 dBA.

From 0 to 3 months

From birth, the world of the baby in the most direct sense depends on the presence of the mother. He recognizes mother by smell, peers at her face, listens to her voice. Breast milk and tender voice, warm and mother's heartbeat create the comfort that all newborns need.

But here passes some couple of weeks and parents notice that the baby begins to examine with interest the surrounding objects within 14 cm from the eyes. At this age, the baby especially appreciates the things that he can watch and listen to. In the first weeks of life, crumbs learn to focus their eyes, therefore, the first toys should develop this skill.

At this age, kids are very fond of clear graphics or black and white pictures depicting figures and faces. Such pictures can be hung on the walls of the crib.

The first rattles that fit the crumbs, those that fasten on the arms and legs. The baby still does not know how to hold toys, but, moving the arms and legs, such rattles will make a gentle soft sound in any movement. Sounds attract the attention of the baby, and he begins to study his body.

The next hit for kids up to 3-5 months. - This is a bedside carousel-mobile. The kid, as if bewitched, can watch for a very long time the bright objects spinning at the top. Objects that move slowly and produce a soft, melodic sound are much more interesting for him than those that are fixed and silent. And until the baby gets hungry, or does not get tired, you can be sure: the mobile will not disappoint him! The main purpose of the mobile is visual stimulation, stimulation of turns of the head and, in the future, attempts by the kid to grab toys floating above him.

From 3 to 6 months

By three months, a child has binocular vision, at four, he no longer just sees, but looks; actively responds to what they see. The actions of the child from 3 to 6 months are becoming more focused. He is persistently trying to reach the subject of interest to him, to attract the attention of adults, there is an expectation of repetitive events. The kid tries to establish emotional, visual, sound contact with adults - he smiles, looks into his eyes, makes various sounds to attract attention, weeping reacts to attempts by an adult to leave him alone. He likes to follow the changes in facial expressions, to look at his reflection in the mirror, to feel the face and hair of an adult.

From this age, the range of toys begins to expand. Kids begin to actively explore the world around them - grab objects, pull their fingers into their mouths, taste everything.

From 3-4 months old baby can already hold a rattle in the handle. Rattles help develop hand motility and coordination of movements. Remember that the rattle should be light enough to fit the hand of the child, have a streamlined shape without any sharp protrusions, with a wide handle, necessarily made of non-toxic materials. It is desirable that all parts of the toy were large enough, and the child could not tighten them in his mouth. The configuration of rattles can be varied - in the form of rings, animals, geometric shapes with rounded shapes, etc.

The first mirror will teach a child to recognize and know himself.Usually mirrors are part of the so-called educational mats. A variety of textured rug materials contribute to the development of motility and sense organs, and interesting pictures introduce the child to the world around. The rug is full of different “rustling”, “hackers” and “tweeters” that attract the baby. While the baby is lying on his tummy, he will be able, carefully examining the bright multi-colored toys, to touch the surfaces of the rug, to raise his head and strengthen the muscles of the neck. When the baby sits, he can play sitting on the rug.

Some educational rugs have a bar with toys. The turntable can be put in the crib. Later you can push it so that the child kicks the toys with their feet. If the toys are located at some distance from the baby, he will try to reach for them. Thus, the toys will serve as an incentive for the development of movements (coups from back to stomach, crawling), strengthening muscles and bone and ligament apparatus. This is necessary to prepare the baby for crawling, sitting, standing and walking.

Soft bright books, pictures on the bed, developing pads with different contents (beans, rice, bells, rustling bags), balls of different sizes will also develop the senses of the kid of this age.

From 6 months. up to 1 year

A game for a baby of 6 months is a way of knowing the world, and a toy is a tool for knowing it. Therefore, at the age of 6 months. till 1 year old, everything that the crumb sees, pulls in a mouth, eats, drinks, hears, touches - all this becomes its object of research. The kid continues to study his hands and feet with great attention, he likes to touch his body, listening to the sensations, grabbing himself for everything that he can grab. Having learned to grasp the toy, he will certainly pull it into his mouth and study the taste, try to shake it in order to extract the sound. At this age, the ability to manipulate objects is improved.

To improve the coordination of hand movements, a child from 6 months should be given to play with toys of the same shape, but of different size, capable of investing in each other (for example, with cups, inserts, cubes, dolls).

Kids from 6 months and older almost completely lose interest in rattles, but they are beginning to be interested in pyramids, cubes, books, inserts, musical instruments. At this age, the baby will be interested in toys with squeakers, talking and dancing animals. Choose the first educational toys with the largest and brightest details to make it easier for your child to learn new games for him.

A brightly colored ball with a rattle inside develops the ability to follow a moving object and sound source.

Kids of this age love to “build” cubes. This game develops the eye better than others, coordination and attention.

The main positions of the charts of this age are pyramids - soft, plastic and wooden. This toy is developing attention, logic, coordination, fine motor skills of the child. The kid can repeat these simple actions with little rings countless times and it will always be interesting for him!

Children really like musical game panels with buttons in the form of animals, pressing on which the baby hears the “voice” of dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, etc. You can invite your child to play his first musical instruments - tambourine, drum, maracas.

By law, one of the most beloved toys of this age is a tumbler. How many times do not push her, she still returns to her former place and at the same time makes pleasant and interesting sounds. As soon as the baby learns to sit, he will be able to play with the doll, pushing in different directions and listening to the music that she publishes, returning to her seat. This game for children under one year develops attention, fine motor skills and the ability to track the movement of an object.

Remember that it is very important at this age also not to overload the attention of the child, buying him a huge amount of multi-colored toys. Give him the opportunity to first fully explore all the features of one toy, and only then offer a new one.

Well, in order for his favorite toy not to become boring, hide it from time to time, and after a while your child will be very happy to see it, as if it were some kind of new toy.
