Today we will visit the exhibition "Orient Express", in the center of MARS. Center for Contemporary Art "MARS" for several years becoming a platform for contemporary artists. Sometimes it seems that modern artists are doing under some kind of prohibited substance ... Today we are loading into this crazy cocktail of various intoxicating substances ...
The first room ... Dark ... The video sculpture "Pythia", whose authors are Taras Mashtalir (Machine Libertine) and Leo Panov.
In ancient Greece, Pythia was called the priestess, the diviner of the Delphic oracle in the temple of Apollo at Delphi. A priestess chosen from the lower classes and detached from worldly life developed prophetic powers. Before the prophecy, Pythia held a three-day fast and ablution, dressed up in luxurious clothes and sat on a tripod. Falling into ecstasy from intoxicating herbs, Pythia prophesied in verse and rambling speech. The priests worked on the interpretation.
In the center of the dark room there is a microphone, in which everyone can say everything that he will come into his head.
That's what happens ...
Come on ... In the next room there is such a pipe.
The possibilities of the artist have finally reached such a level of interaction with the viewer that they are able to use not only their creative potential, but the biological vibrations of the observer. Direct evidence of this is the interactive object of Dmitry and Elena Kavargi. “Residual thought stream 5” is the final, fifth part of the research cycle.
The basis of the interaction of the thought stream with the viewer is the electroencephalographic method of studying the brain, which consists in recording, analyzing and interpreting the biological currents of the brain of animals and humans. The device based on the EEG removes the data of “brain waves”, the existence of which was discovered by the Austrian psychiatrist H. Berger in 1929. He found that the electrical characteristics of these signals depend on the state of the subject. The most noticeable were synchronous waves of relatively large amplitude with a characteristic frequency of about 10 cycles per second. Berger called them alpha waves and contrasted them with high-frequency “beta waves”, which manifest themselves when a person becomes more active. The discovery of Berger led to the creation of an electroencephalographic method for studying the brain, consisting in recording, analyzing and interpreting the biological currents of the brain of animals and humans.
The data captured by the device is processed by a special program written by a programmer under the strict guidance of a psychophysiology scientific consultant. As a result of removing and decoding brain signals emanating from the viewer who entered into the interaction, the thought stream selects a certain audio track that most fully reflects the brain bio-activity of the “translator” "In the current second. “A whole library of short audio files is used in the mental stream, in fact, squeaks, crackles and noises. The program in real time loads, corresponding to the brain radiation of the contactor, audio files, the changing flow of which is perceived as something integral. However, in a calm state, without radiation of the human brain, the base track, specially created by the St. Petersburg musician Kryptogen Rundfunk, turns on. ”Reading alpha, beta and gamma waves transmits a unique sound pattern. There are five ranges in total, but the viewer who came to the Mars Center and came into contact with Myslepoto, hardly dormant or in the phase of deep sleep.
Apparently the installation does not work. Tested on yourself.
The installation “Angel's Eye” literally appeared to Konstantin Khudyakov in the embodiment of an unusually noisy and curious hornet. As a sign, he inspired the artist to create a unique interactive painting. Jan Kalnberzin and Evgeny Afonin, artists and programmers, helped to realize this complex intellectual multitouch installation. Angel closes her eyes alone with herself. When the viewer comes into view, the angel's eye begins to show, draw, and change the reality between them. For me, this is the most interesting and unwelled installation.
It seems that the room is sleeping, but when approaching the center, the room wakes up anxiously and looks at you.
Persistent, silent, endlessly standing in their place stones - eternity itself, cold, impregnable. The scenery is changing around them, time streams rush by the whirlwinds, eras replace one another. Energy infinitely and transiently washes immovable monuments. Time erasing signs, leveling buildings with the ground, tearing ties. Only the spirit remains.About all this video sculpture of Jakub Neprash "The genius of the place."
Further. Jakub Neprash interprets the interaction of man, technology and his environment. The aura of every object, every thing in the cramped modern age of globalization is closely intersected with another. The intangible component of any object of the real world, the soul is or energy, emotion, idea or information, invisible, but felt by the inner sense of a living being, arises in communication.
In the next room, people enjoy contemporary art. Lying on the ottomans, staring at the phone and stuck into the wall.
No one pays attention to the picture behind. For me, so chic picture. The picture represents trash ... Very beautiful.
In the next room, music plays and you fall into a light-sound hallucination. A new audiovisual installation “The Void” (The Void), created by the TUNDRA team, is an attempt to visualize the idea of emptiness. Emptiness here is not the absence of everything, but the initial state with the possibility of the appearance of its small Universe. As an epigraph to this work, its creators chose the words of the Indian thinker Nagarjuna (3rd century AD).e.): “For someone who is clear of emptiness, everything becomes clear.” At some point, the brain just breaks, it starts to pulsate ...
Next, photos from the room that accurately reflect the feelings of the person inside.
In the meantime, a brain explosion ...
I came out of the room with vertigo ... And then the room, which was created, obviously, under butyrate.
This is a trash-frightened performance installation "Genome of Fortune". In the room there is some kind of bad music that after the last room finishes the mind.
Come consciousness ...
What is on the table...
Very creative, damn, the author ...
And the last room. SEELD is a fascinating game with its own shadow, where every movement creates music. Driving the light, the shadow-carrying spectator becomes a composer, extracting a unique musical series from an interactive audiovisual installation by Ivan Kabalin (kbln) and Alexey Devianin (Pixelord).
Art is different ...
