Day regimen of the child: to be or not to be?

Day regimen of the child: to be or not to be? - image number 1Marina Fedotova, the mother of the son of Klima and the leader of the “Mom knows” category, will share her thoughts, discoveries and experience with us. We are waiting for your feedback and advice in the comments to the material. Together we know more!

I remember when my son was 3 or 4 months old, a neurologist told me: your boy regimen is important - strictly follow him and the child will be silk.

I didn’t pay much attention to the words of the doctor - the baby and so slept and ate as scheduled. But she remembered parting words, and for good reason. Yes, there are “comfortable” children: they literally sleep almost all night from birth, they eat everything and always, they fall asleep anywhere. In general, there are such children, but, it seems to me, only in fairy tales. Either their mothers are fairies, nothing else.

For the most part, a child needs a regimen, and here’s why. The little man comes to the big world. Nine months before this event, his universe was clear, tangible, and in principle predictable. And suddenly - collapsed. Would you in the place of a child - what would you feel? That's the same ... And how to explain to a non-sane babythat in this wondrous new world he is safe, his mother, who has been guarding all nine months, is still aki tigress? With the help of the daily routine and related rituals, which, like road signs, guide the child, his actions and sensations in the right direction. It was the prevailing everyday life, habitual "anchor" lessons instill in the crumb a sense of firmness, constancy and security.

Once, I inadvertently conducted an experiment: when my son was about a year old, and he was already well aware of what was happening and who all these people were around, we went to visit. The first half of the day everything was as usual - I walked, slept in a carriage. But when it was lunch time, it turned out that the situation was not homemade, there was no favorite chair, and in general, everything was not that. Of course, somehow managed to feed, then - somehow play. It seems to be a lot of impressions, and should be tired so that on the way home to sleep. But no, everything turned out the other way around - and did not fall asleep, and was overexcited, and then “retreated” for a couple more days.

Of course, the older and more independent a child becomes, the more opportunities there are to open the world to him in the literal sense, the more calmly he takes to change. But I would keep these rituals and the accompanying regime as long as possible: the baby does not have other guidelines signaling that everything is going on as usual and there is no reason to panic.

I understand parents, who sigh sadly in response. Believe me, this "groundhog day" and I am not in a rush. But! The bonus of systematic and monotonous adherence to the rules is a child who does not worry about making decisions (when to eat, when to sleep, when to play), a child who comfortably exists within the framework that allows him not to worry. For a little man, this choice, which looks like a grown-up adult, is like playing Russian roulette. Lucky-no luck, guess or not ...

thereforemy new day is like yesterday and like tomorrow. But! (one more thing) In order for us, our parents, to feel that OUR world has not collapsed completely into tartar, we also have our own rituals.
